We are proud supporters of World Vision Canada. Some of us may forget how lucky we are to live in Canada and what we have. As Canadians we have the power to literally CHANGE A CHILD'S LIFE at very little cost. In seeing the important life changing work World Vision Canada does, we have sponsored our own children (Amile and Enock) in Africa both as a company and our staff individually. We have seen many children grow over the decades of our sponsorship through World Vision Canada. Please make a change in a child's life and sponsor one through World Vision Canada today. You'll never regret you did!
The YMCA was established over 160 years ago as a charity dedicated to the health of both individuals and communities. Their primary focus is on inclusiveness and accessibility. They serve people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities through all stages of life. The YMCA is accessible to all. There are 43 YMCAs and 5 YMCA-YWCAs in Canada offering programs and services for the community’s needs. We believe in their philosophy on accessibility and support their efforts which improve the health and lifestyle for thousands of people in our local community.
In 1990 Operation Christmas Child began packing shoeboxes for children in need around the world in Africa, South America and other impoverished areas. Samaritan’s Purse adopted the program in 1993. Operation Christmas Child has collected and distributed over 135 million shoebox gifts worldwide. In 2015, Canadians donated more than 730,000 Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes for hurting children around the world. Shoeboxes can be filled with school supplies, hygiene items, toys, needed household tools and other such items. Watching these children open their shoeboxes let’s one appreciate all that we have and to help where we can to those in need. Hubbard Insurance Group participates with Operation Christmas Child in packing shoeboxes in our office, carefully selecting items for boys and girls to feel the spirit of Christmas.

Over the past few years we have collectively as a team participated in Movember growing moustaches (well the men are) to address some major health issues faced by men including prostate cancer, testicular cancer, and mental health and suicide prevention. The Movember Foundation is on a mission to reduce the number of prematurely dying men by 25%.
We also participate in Canada’s Dress for the Cause dressing our office and ourselves in pink in support of research into the detection, prevention, treatment and cure of breast cancer. The Breast Cancer Society of Canada has raised over $7 million with this one day event across Canada. This is a fun day for a great cause and who doesn’t like pink?!?
We have also supported Sheridan College in the Cooperative Business Programs opening our office to student co-op placement. Co-op programs are a form of education that links classroom learning with paid employment experiences. We have found Sheridan College students excited about further learning in the work environment and we also learn from them on the most up to date academia. We encourage other businesses to use the opportunity of hiring a Sheridan College coop student.
